Im moving on to wordpress www.technobreak.com

A good change for my own sake.. im shifting my blog to a new platform.I am hosting it under my own domain name..Adieu blogspot..you have been so nice to me..As a humble beggining I have got 50MB Apache Server with one FTP,MySql,cronjobs, sendmail, php and a hell lot of things that a linux system can give me..and monthly bandwidth of 1 GB,which is pretty much enuf.I am currently juggling with pixeled theme. And I would like to call this as beta.I will be posting my new blogs to www.technobreak.com [beta]

What is technobreak ??

I brainstormed a lot..and was on the verge of hitting my head on the laptop..and to finish it off..i came up with this silly name..it means in my defintion a break from the technical world.please dont interpret as tech no break , ie taking no break and full time tech..never in my dreams..its technobreak and the "no" shud be used without the spaces..

why did i do this ?

To be independent.
To gain more google juice.
To be professional.
A hell lot of plugins.
To start more services like a PHP BB perhaps.
To gain more readerships.

please bookmark this in your browser

smile in the sky : Celestial trio in December 1 twilight - photos

The blazing planets Venus and Jupiter were in conjunction at dusk and early evening. What is it about these gatherings of objects in the night sky that's so alluring? Hard to know, but I'll tell you that Venus and Jupiter will be almost as close together this evening as they were last night. What's more, this evening, the waxing crescent moon will join the show in earnest, appearing very near the two brightest planets.

The view will be spectacular with the eye alone, although (it must be said) these objects are fairly low in the twilight sky as seen from the northern hemisphere. Oh, to be in the southern hemisphere now, where the trio stands high in the sky after sunset! No matter. People around the world will look up to see and be amazed by these worlds.

courtesy & more info http://www.earthsky.org/skywatching

There are 2 Venus/Jupiter conjunctions in 2008 (February 1, December 1). Looking ahead, there is no Venus/Jupiter conjunction in 2009, then one Venus/Jupiter conjunction per year from 2010-2014. There are 3 in 2015, one in 2016, one in 2017, none in 2018, 2 in 2019, and none in 2020.

we gone crab hunting - the great kill

click to enlarge - warning for the faint hearted : may cause an unknown amount of fear or "yucks"

Yet another weekend came as "unexpected" ;-) . Didnt think i would be out of bugs on friday, the weekend.we developers are so afraid of these fridays..i start biting nails that I grew over the week on fridays....till now i havent purchased a nail cutter for cutting my nails...now u may think about my feet..well im saving them, who knows one day I may have to bite my fingers off my hand..if you thought I was just kidding....well i was ;-) ...

Ok...so this friday was an unexpected end..overwhelmed with joy..I made a quick plan and told my friend jaise that we can go for crab hunting..I didnt expect him to agree. But the spark got fire and he said yes.And we reached room by 6..took out the gears..a decommisioned shuttlebat and a plastic cover..tats all..this is enough to kill crabs..and a hell of zest we drove to the kazhakootam beach..dont know the beach's name..its near meenamkulam, just near the kinfra park.

we parked the bike on the road.it was dusk..the perfect time to start hunting..the crabs were coming out to the beach for an evening stroll :) ....Crabs will get confused when they are shown bright light..they wont even move and will stand still..this is their curse and thats our chance..they come in masses of about 30 - 60 and climb up the beach sand..when they hear us approaching..maybe the ground vibrations..they will start running towards the sea..this is where we strike...one guy will be the light guy and the other will be the hitman..the light guy will target a crab and come around the crab from the sea side so that the victimised crab cant run to the sea..and he will show the light towards the crab..first the crab shows some random motions but when the lightman gets near to it and the light becomes brighter..they get confused and stand still..now its hitman's chance and he hits it with the bat..a small blow of is just enough for the crab to get crippled and off he goes into the "game bag"...its easier said than done..the whole process of chasing a crab, cornering it,and crippling it will take only 5 to 7 seconds.Thats the only time window we got before the crab gets into the water...if u really want a more descriptive process..i hav already written a post about crab hunting many months back..this time we were focussed to get the biggies and the actions were well planned and synchronised so the misses were minimum..both the hitman's and lightman's actions should be simultaneous and synchronous..else it defeats the whole purpose..the lightman decided which crab is to be caught and he shows light to a singled out and the most advantageous one and the hitman does his part..we swapped roles and hunted on the dark beach for an hour running, diving till our good health could.

We hunted about 3.5 Kilos approx and was too tired to even walk back.so we sat on a catamaran and lied down on it looking up the stars and occasionally some shooting stars and talked about blackholes and supernovas..and we started our journey back..and lost our way..there were only stars to guide us and we didnt know where the pole star was..( as if,if we knew we would find our way )..the whole beach was pitch black..and wandered through the beach cutting the blackness which shrouded us with the sony ericsson's torch light..then two people approached us..they were fisherfolks..we told we lost our way back to the road..they helped us in finding the way back..we came so much advanced after those running and hunting..we had to walk a bit long distance back. And they showed us the exit point..and we were in the bike..with our kill..

Reached room..washed the crabs and laid them to rest into the freezer..we plan to make something this monday or tuesday..maybe a crab soup..heard soups are healthy for software engineers.. :)) ...it was a perfect way to start a weekend..last week rock show..this week crab hunting..next week im going shark hunting..they say we shud aim on the stars to reach beyond the skies.. :))

nullTarif live at trivandrum Nishagandhi

nullTarif...a german rock band was live at trivandrum today.me and my friend went to watch it. the entry was free.It was sponsored by german cultural society on the eve of starting its operations in trivandrum.its a boy band and was not a heavy rock one.they performed well .though most of the german songs were not understandable , we enjoyed the essence of rock.headbanging had no use coz the songs were that kind of heavy.they even sang a love song too...OMG..a rock band with a love song..?? .. do that suck..i guess really..though rock band like metallica has got some slow numbers like "nothing else matters" , hmm singing a love song... though we all like it..was a little girlish..the roll and rumble of the rock music has to stay where it is..but they performed extremely good.the sound of the thuds were awesome..like ur chest was being piled.they were sweating like hell..no no , no stage fear this. :) our climate..

watch this video of nullTarif from youtube.

videos of the live show

it was a nice way to start a weekend. an escapade from office tensions and unfixed bugs.office kills me..nowadays has started killing me more...im trying to find solace somewhere..be it movie or washing my cloths.im trying to find my toleration limit.Mum...u used to tell me..i had no patience..come nd see me now...how patient im..how i learned to keep mum to any injustice i see..how i learned to bend my knees..,how i learned to accept the wisdom the fools tell.how i learned to accept the egos..how i learned to accept the fact that the system will always work as it worked in the yesterdays and years..

why we started cooking in our home

today me and my friends had food from a hotel...usually we cook on sundays, coz on sunday our cook wont come. This sunday we were too lazy to cook and we got ourselves punished again. I have seen hotels in many places of kerala. As far as I have seen, trivandrum has got the most worst hotels in terms of cleanliness and good food. The taste of the food sucks. The hotel people never cares for the taste of the food that their customers eat..Or is the whole trivandrum food taste is like this only ?? . You will feel depressed mentally after eating your food :) .

Its very difficult for you to get a waiter in front of you in trivandrum hotels. No they arent busy delivering the foods. They are stubborn. We have to explicitly go and invite them.Once I sat in a restaurant and was waiting for a waiter to come to my table. He saw me sitting there. But he had no plans to come to my table and ask what I need.So i went there and told him.Chetta ente table vare onnu varamo order edukkan, sarcastically. He understood my serious joke and came to my table.First I told him to clear my table. You know in trivandrum hotels, they dont clean your table completely. You will find remains of food even after their cleaning. And how do they clean it ?? .. swipe a cloth all over the table thus pushing the food particles out of the table to the floor.I havent seen such a practice in ernakulam. They will come with a small container and collect waste in that. So after much requests one guy came and "cleaned" in trivandrum style. To hear the response of the waiter for the things I asked , I had to get inside his mouth.I thought maybe this guy was an airline pilot.his dad wanted him to be a waiter,he didnt like this job.So he is behaving like this :) ...you can really feel the big attitude of these people.Like as if we are eating food for free from their hotels.finally i got my tasteless sambhar and idly.Had it and left the hotel.

these are the reasons why we started cooking in our home.due to workpressure we couldnt cook ourselves. So we appointed a cook. And taught her to cook in ernakulam style.

Exceptions: The sri ananthapuri hotel keshavadasapuram is one of the cleanest hotel I have ever gone in trivandrum,I know there maybe lots of other clean hotels in trivandrum. But I dont want to try my luck at those.

Exceptionally dirty hotels in trivandrum:
The hotels in and around kazhakootam, technopark are the dirtiest hotels I have ever seen in my life. The rank holder is al madeena.

a quick question.

why do the Ambrosia in techno mall and the subway near it doesnt have a wash ? . dont we need to wash our hands before and after food.Or do we need to use the tissue ?

hsbc credit card fishing line

today i was just checking my credit card account online,to my surprise i saw 2000 Rs levied as annual fees and 1000 rs levied as annual fees to my another add on card.I called HSBC customer care straight way and told them that i was told that this card hasnt got an annual fee and I wont pay the 3000 Rs levied against me.The sweet lady told me to hold on and after some seconds she reverted..Sir you are a good customer to HSBC and you have had a good relation with the bank.So we are waiving the 3000 Rs and making your card life time free.Wowwww....they thought i must be so happy..I said thanks a lot and hung up..

this incident shows the fishing lines these people put onto ignorant people.I didnt wait to ask that how did i have a good relation with the bank and they waived me 3000 Rs...ohh tats a big amount of money to be simply waived off for..anyways i was lucky i didnt fall into the trap...ohh now i remember why i got a good relation with the bank..maybe itz coz i hav bought my laptop with the credit card for amount 25,000 and made it an emi...maybe coz of that..

in a nutshell..credit cards are a boon...until and unless you use it extra carefully and keep monitoring the card statements..

IT ke side effects.

IT ke side effects..An intresting mail i got today.Read the mail from bottom up...

my addendum.

Once my dad asked whether i could come home on a particular weekend on phone. I said..  "oh tats fine,no issues"

Okay this was really funny. I was once writing something on the notebook with a pen. After writing a paragraph, I realized some part of the paragraph had to be written again.
Guess what I did? Well I just took my pen from the beginning of the text and started drawing a horizontal line, till the point I needed to copy. I did it the same way just as we do while copying text from some word file. Only after I saw the horizontal line and none of the other text getting selected, that I realized that it wasn't a computer and I was writing with a pen and using a paper! J

I think I will add mine too..
I made some data for unit testing on paper… I opened excel...
And I was wondering why the data didn't appear on the excel even though I repeatedly pressed Ctrl+V

I have a experience to share tooo .. I was earlier working at the back office of an international Bank. We used to 'dispatch' lot of Credit / Debit cards and statements for the customers and track its delivery later.

Once my granma was admitted in a hospital, my team mate once casually asked me " howz ur granma doing now ? still in hospital ? " ... and i replied to her " She is better now , she will dispatched from the hospital tomorrow !"

This was followed by a loud laugh in the entire bay !

Yeah.. "provide me with the Path" ,,,, actually cudnt recollect that the word shud be route till u mentioned it….
Certainly occupational errors….

The other day I was hearing one guy talking of a "Standalone" house.. when he was actually intending a independent house… Poor broker shud have tuff time trying to find a " Alone house standing in a huge empty area… " don't know what interpretations the guy must have made

"Also, please do provide me with the path"

Side effects of being in the IT field..

Hi all,

This weekend I am looking for a get away of about 200-300 KM car drive. Any idea, what are the places I can visit around Hyderabad? Also, please do provide me with the path.
